This intimate backyard Cincinnati wedding was everything a photographer dreams of. Nicole & Blake hosted a small celebration in Nicole’s parent’s backyard yet every single detail was well thought out. We knew this going in, so we decided to take along our film camera! We’ve been focusing a lot on film wedding photography lately, and we knew Nicole and Blake’s detail shots would be perfect for the film medium!
Nicole & Blake have had to pivot their wedding so many times, I’ve lost count! They originally planned a large, elegant celebration at the beautiful Cincinnati wedding venue, Laurel Court. Although COVID caused them to cancel these plans, their May wedding day was perfect in every way….
… Well, besides the downpour that happened in the middle of the ceremony, but they handled it with so much grace and humility and did not let it ruin their day. Their friends and family quickly got a tent over the two of them and led them to safety! They were able to continue taking portraits when the rain cleared while Nicole’s dad grilled up some delicious Jeff Ruby’s steaks for the crew.
This beautiful wedding was so chock full of gorgeous and SPECIAL details. From her PERFECT bouquet by the amazing Cincinnati wedding florist, Emily Rose, to the custom invitation suites designed by Rose Gold Studio, to the hand-crafted seal that Nicole had commissioned, to the exquisite tablescape designed by Nicole herself- everything was incredible. And, we were right! These details were perfect for film wedding photography!
Nicole’s style and lover of all things beautiful were perfectly conveyed through this intimate wedding celebration. The soft colors, pops of peonies and other florals, unique table linens, vintage tableware, and stylish bridesmaid dresses helped the entire day come together in a perfect, cohesive package. We loved photographing this spring wedding because their engagement session was in the dead of winter at a Christmas Tree Farm!
Nicole and Blake are perfectly designed for each other. Their love goes hand-in-hand, and they have the ultimate respect for one another. We are so thankful that we have these lovely humans as clients and cannot wait to see where life takes them. We cannot wait to photograph the second half of their wedding celebration in November!
