Our second in our series of Venue Spotlights is The Transept by Funky’s Catering and Events. This venue was on our bucket-list for the longest time and we finally got to photograph there last winter! It’s located in the heart of Over the Rhine in Cincinnati, OH. It’s the perfect venue for a Cincinnati Wedding!

What We Love: 

We absolutely love the large German Gothic vibes to this renovated church. There are so many spaces with different vibes that you can get any look you want- even if the weather outside is less than ideal. The beautiful wall-to-wall windows that line the space allows in an abundance of light that creates a romantic glow throughout the venue. 

There are so many options on how to make your wedding unique and configure the space to reflect your personality. It’s flexible where you host your ceremony as well as the configuration of your reception tables. You can make this venue reflect you and your personalities!

Like The Pinecroft, The Transept is owned and operated by Funky’s Catering and the people are amazing here as well. The staff here ensures your day goes off completely without a hitch and you won’t have to worry about a single thing. They take care of it all! 

As for portrait locations, you have so many to choose from. From the bell tower bridal suite, to the upper deck, lower deck, beautiful stained glass windows, and the beautiful painted brick renovated church, you have an abundance of indoor options. You also have access to all of OTR including Music Hall, Hamilton County Courthouse, the brick streets, and beautiful Washington Park all within walking distance. 

There’s no reason to travel! Everything is right there on site. You won’t need to provide transportation for your bridal party or family and your guests will not have to drive from your ceremony to your reception. The smooth transition from cocktail hour to the receptions pace will allow your guests to tour the building, drink hand-crafted beverages, and revel in the building’s architecture and romantic gothic vibes.
